In horticulture, Priva prefers working closely with our customers. We therefore use a regional market approach from 4 Regional Offices: EMEA, North America, Latin America and Asia.

We are looking for a General Manager Asia for our Priva Asia office, which is currently located in Beijing, China. In 2015 we opened a second office in Shanghai and you will be responsible for both offices.

As General Manager Asia, you will be responsible for the ongoing business in the region and its offices. The role will be empowered to facilitate a strong growth of Priva’s footprint in Asia. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Formulate the overall business plan, create a route to market strategy for the Asia region, carry out budget preparation and take care of budget control;
  • Manage the human and financial resources of Priva Asia to ensure that the objectives for the region are met;
  • Further develop a strong distributor network in Asia and personally oversee the adequate management of Priva Asia’s key accounts.

You are a pioneer and have a results-driven character. With your vision and management style you and your team can achieve set goals. When required, you can come up with stimulating solutions. You are a connector; you will work to create an even better connection between the other Regional Offices and our Headquarters in De Lier, the Netherlands.

You can build and further strengthen the existing (B2B) network. Together with the local sales team, you will create the best conceivable service. You are familiar with the different cultures in Asia and are accustomed to selling by means of building and maintaining relationships. You are well acquainted with technology and you know how to close the deal.

Location: Beijing / Shanghai, China with frequent business travel.

 

Does this profile describe you? 

  • At least a Bachelor’s degree (e.g. Technical Business Management or similar);
  • Experienced with B2B Sales in an international environment, preferably in Horticulture.
  • You are an entrepreneurial person with a clear vision, who thinks strategically;
  • Experience within and good knowledge about the world of Horticulture is required;
  • Fluent in English and Chinese;
  • You are sensitive to the things going on around you and you can change your way of communicating and working with different cultures on a day-to-day basis;
  • These attributes are applicable to you: vision, decisive, results-driven, coaching ability, interpersonal sensitivity and a team player.
