Management Trainee/Operational Manager Priva America Latina (Mexico)

Priva prefers working closely with our customers. We therefore use a regional market approach from local offices throughout the world (EMEA, Asia, North America and Latin America). We are looking for an ambitious and inspiring Operational Manager for our office in Mexico (opened in 2010).

Because the current General Manager of our office in Mexico is going to be responsible for a wider area and will operate out of Priva California, a vacancy has arisen for the position of Operational Manager in our Mexican office. This unique position will give you the opportunity to grow into the role via an intensive training program.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing the daily operations in the office and for bringing in sales, achieving the annual sales target and developing new verticals in the region. You will devote a large portion of your time to managing key accounts in Latin America. Commerce flows through your veins and you never give it anything less than your best. Dealing with major (commercial) challenges is second nature to you and you can find stimulating and creative solutions for them. With your commercial drive, you will be able to build a (B2B) network and expand the existing one.

Our ambition is to create a supportive regional office with various local offices in America and you will therefore report to the General Manager of Priva Inc. California. You will receive intensive training and coaching to enable you to grow and develop in this role. In this way, you will in due course become a (strategic) business developer, manager, connector and pioneer all in one. You have experience of or an affinity with international horticulture and together with the local sales team you will be able to create the best service imaginable. You know how to adapt to a local culture and you can speak English and Spanish. You are confident, eager to learn, you are a fast learner and you are not afraid of a challenge.

• Location: Querétaro, with regular travel within Latin America and beyond.

Does this profile describe you?

• At least a Bachelor’s degree (preferably technical/commercial with a focus on agriculture, e.g. HAS University of Applied Sciences);
• Experience within and good knowledge about the world of Horticulture is required;
• Several years’ experience, e.g. as an Account manager or Crop manager, is desirable;
• Ambition to live and/or work abroad;
• You are very ambitious, confident and eager to learn;
• You speak fluent English and have a good knowledge of Spanish;
• You are sensitive to the things going on around you and you can change your way of communicating and working with different cultures on a day-to-day basis;
• These attributes are applicable to you: ambitious, eager to learn, go-getter, decisive, results-driven, interpersonal sensitivity and a team player.
